We use:

  • WHO / WHOM / THAT to refer to people;
  • WHICH / THAT to refer to objects or animals;
  • WHOSE to refer to people or objects when we show possession;
  • WHO / WHICH or THAT can be omitted only if they don't act as the subject in their clause;
  • WHOSE is never omitted;
