On a dark-green background, near the flagship flag, there exists a red vertical tape on which there are five decorative reasons used in making traditional turkmens carpets. At the base of the red band there are two branches of olive similar to those on the United Nation's flag, and up, in the right part of it, it exists a growing-up half-moon, in the concavity of which there are five stars , which make a rectangle whose diagonals are perpendicular on the in the interior tangents of the corners of the half-moon.
The green and red colours are the turkmens' historical colours. The half-moon means the hope in a light future, and the stars mean the five provinces of Turkmenistan:Ahal,Balkan,Dașoguz,Lepab and Mary.
