I feel so incredibly lucky to have visited the Bran Castle, this wonderful national monument and landmark in Romania. It's commonly known as Dracula's castle because of its history. It's placed on a dramatic hilltop near Brașov. You wouldn't know the horrors of it by looking at the splendid appearance with tall towers, the roof being blood-red.The interior design is gothic and elegant. Interestingly, it does not have a basement as it's built on solid rock. It contains 57 rooms with a eerily secret passageways leading up to the watch towers. Much of the furniture and the artwork that hangs from the castle’s walls today belonged to the Queen Mary
