Past continuous : The past continuous describes actions or events in a time before now, which began in the past and is still going on at the time of speaking. In other words, it expresses an unfinished or incomplete action in the past.
Trecutul continuu : Trecutul continuu descrie acțiuni sau evenimente într-un moment anterior, care a început în trecut și încă se întâmplă în momentul în care vorbește. Cu alte cuvinte, ea exprimă o acțiune neterminată sau incompletă în trecut.
Exemples :
You were studying when she called. ( past continuous)....
You called Debbie. ( past simple )
Past simple : The past simple is a tense that is used to talk about things that happened or existed before now, in the past.
Trecut simplu : Trecutul simplu este timpul care este folosit pentru a vorbi despre lucruri care s-au întâmplat sau au existat în trecut.
