National Child Day has been proclaimed across Canada since 1993. This was specifically and officially announced in response to the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1959, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1989.
Canadians even have an official act, the "Child Day Act". This outlines human rights to which children, under the age of 18, are entitled by law. This act celebrates Children’s Day on November 20th of every year
