Primele jocuri olimpice au avut loc in Olympia in Grecia antica in 776 BC.Grecii erau indragostiti de muzica,drama si toate tipurile de exercitii fizice.Ei erau oameni religiosi.Faimoasele jocuri in Olympia au avut loc in onoarea zeiilor si intotdeauna includea loturi pentru ceremonii religioase,precum si evenimente sportive.Jocuriile olimpice aveau loc la fiecare jumatate de an si toate orasele din Grecia trimiteau cei mai buni atleti sa ia partea lor.Cei mai puternici atleti se adunau impreuna sa alerge,sa sara,sa se tranteasca,aruncarea discului si box.
