1. The school day in American schools starts at seven or eight in the morning and it runs to half past two or three o'clock. It lasts 6-7 hours.
2. As American schools try to create a strong sense of community, they have their own sport team for various sports (football, baseball, ice hockey, basketball). They also have bands.
3. After students leave school they go to university.
4. Colleges (university educations) aren't free.
5. Parents have to pay for their children, but often students have a part-time job to support themselves.
