a) 2x+7=43+x
2x-x=43-7
x=36
b) 3*(4+5x)=72
3*4+3*5x=72
12+15x=72
15x=72-12
15x=60

3 X  ( 4 + 5 x ) = 72  
      4 + 5 x = 72 : 3
      4 +  5 x = 24
      5 x = 24 - 4
      5 x = 20
      x = 20 : 5
