Verbele auxiliare si modale formeaza interogativ prin inversiune cu subiectul:
Are you a boy? Is she a girl?
Can you open the door?
May I go to the theater?
Celelalte verbe formeaza interogativul cu ajutorul lui TO DO, care preia modul si timpul verbului de conjugat (inclusiv terminatiile), formand interogativul prin inversiune cu subiectul:
Do you like cherries?
Does he go to school on Monday?
Did you buy anything from the bookstore?
