Moving house
I come from a very large family, and recently my parents (1) decided that they (2) would leave our overcrowded house in Birmingham. 'We (3) are moving to the country', my father (4) announced one evening. 'I have (5) spent long enough living in an overcrowded house. It's time to move to the countryside.' So last week we (6) sold this house, and we (7) bought a farm. So last week we (7) hired two vans, and for the last few days we (8) have been living on (9) loading all our possessions into (10) trying to organize ourselves in our new home. Yesterday, for example, my three brothers and I (11) started painting the downstairs rooms. While I (12) was mixing the paint, one of my sisters (13) opened the door. Nobody (14) had told her that we (15) were painting the walls, so we (16) had to clean the paint off the floor. But worse things (17) happened then. This morning when I (18) woke up, I (19) found water dripping through the ceiling next to my bed. We (20) have spent today so far repairing the roof. It's not all bad news, though. The school in the village nearby (21) closed down two years ago, and my parents (22) haven't found another school for us yet.
