One day the hare sees the tortoise and says:"I'm the fastest animal in the forest .No one can beat me.Do you want to race me ti the river?"
"I do" says the tortoise.
"HA!HA!HA!",laughs the hare ."You cannot beat me!"
"Just let me try :,says the tortoise .
And so the hare and the tortoise begin .The hare runs very fast.
"There's the river"says the hare.
"It doesn't take me long to get there.
The tortoise is far behind me-I can stopand rest for a white!"
So the hare sits down under a big tree and soon he falls asleep.
The tortoise walks on slowly.He does not stop to rest .
At last the hare wakes up.
"I must hurry and get to the river"
He runs as fast as he can .But soon he can see the tortoise sitting by the river.
"Oh ,no !"he says."It can't be true !"
"Oh yes !It can! I'm slow, but I do not stop to rest !"says the tortoise .
Slow ut sure wins the race.
