In sistemul cartezian xOy se considera punctele A(-1,3) B(1,-1). Sa se determine ecuatia mediatoarei segmentului AB.

mediatoarea mijloc M ( 0 , 1 ) 
panta AB = [ -1 -3 ] / [ 1 +1 ] = -4 / 2 = -2 
panta AB · panta mediatoarei =  -1 
panta med. = 1/2 
med.    y -  1 = 1/2 ( x  -0) 
med.    2y - 2 = x 
        x - 2y + 2 =0
